LED Lights Are a Transformative Technology for Developing Nations

While the news about LED lights leading to a Nobel prize have been circulating around not many people have been paying attention to just what LED bulbs have been achieving in the developing nations and world. Together with solar panels, LED lights have been a revolutionary change for the billion people who live without reliable forms of electricity.

Particularly, solar-powered LED lights in Africa have been providing light sources to over 28 million people that don’t have regular forms of other kinds of electricity. In fact, it seems to be a steady market for solar powered lights, which is spreading into Asia and other parts of the world. And it’s all because LED lights don’t require a power grid to function; they can function on their own grid as long as they are supplied with power somehow. And since most of the world isn’t hooked up to power in the way the US or Britain has been for years, it’s quite a market out there.

And that’s why LED lights are becoming a transformative technology for these developing nations. They finally have access to the lights without having to worry about the electric grid that takes a much longer time to set up.

It’s even better with the solar power hook-ups for LED lights, both as a form of renewable energy and simply as a means of introducing some electricity sources to these nations and populations. Previously it was just far too expensive for most people to afford a solar power hook-up let alone an entire power grid and moving forward it does seem Solar powered LED Lights gave a leeway for producing other systems and devices that are solar power based and come with a means of solar power production when bought.

Truly, once again, LED lights are revolutionizing the world even in parts of the world that didn’t have lights previously!
