There are a number of design trends that have risen to the forefront in the first months of 2016, but few categories seem to be more important to homeowners than lighting. These results come from a recent American Society of Landscape Architects’ survey, and let’s take a closer look at what else the ASLA discovered.
This survey asked landscape architects to rank a variety of different outdoor design elements and what they expect their popularity to be throughout 2016. Architects made their choices by evaluating current trends in the market, as well as analyzing elements that have been steadily rising in popularity in recent years. More than 800 people responded to this survey throughout the first half of February.
In addition to new outdoor lighting opportunities, architects expect that most of their projects will involve rainwater harvesting, native plants, low-maintenance landscapes and other jobs that are focused on creating eco-friendly living spaces, according to the results of the survey. The outside of the home is becoming increasingly important, which is where outdoor lighting comes in.
